Early education
There are five stages of education in the UK: early years, primary, secondary, Further Education (FE) and Higher Education (HE).
Early education is an important part of any educational system in any country. In the UK, the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) came into force in September 2008 and set standards for the provision of learning, development and care for 3- and 4-year-old children. It is called Foundation Stage because it is exactly at that time that your child learns communication, language and other skills, develops socially, physically, personally and emotionally. It is the foundation for future life.
England is one of the countries that pays extreme attention to early education.
Early years education in England
It normally takes place in state or private settings. The former includes state nursery schools, nursery classes and reception classes within primary schools, and the latter includes voluntary pre-schools, privately run nurseries or childminders. Children learn to read, write, sing and dance. Other areas of learning are physical development, mathematics, expressive arts and design. Some providers offer foreign languages.
Early education in the UK has only child’s interests at heart. They are given topics for discussion that let them understand the world better. Children are praised for every little achievement and such approach develops self-esteem and self-confidence. It means that in future life your child will be able to live in any society which is so important now.
